Gimme an R…gimmie…an O….Gimme a B…an ERT!! yey…(sorry I’m a dork) so so glad you’re at +1 and with new baby on the way. God is good. Mucho love for you, and sending many blessings your way… May they find you feeling strong and encouraged. Be like the energizer bunny -K-?
Continuing to pray for your whole family. I am glad to see you are doing better! You appear to have more energy and spunk! I hope this is the beginning of healing! Many thoughts and prayer sent your way and to Aimee
Three questions–kept us up last night, so we figured we ask
numero uno—when do you think may be a good time to come visit? For you…and your health?
dos–how does the cancer stay away or out of your stem cells?? Is there a process for that or does it just not go there?
three–after the next stem cell transplant…what happens? Do you wait and see if that took care of everything? Do you have surgery for the lymph nodes? Do you get to go home?
Hope to see you soon! Can’t wait to hear the news on Egan!
My thoughts and prayers are with Aimee and you every day but especially on this special night. Eagan is so blessed to have Aimee and you as parents!
Thank you Robert, for reminding me of something I too often forget or ignore, which is who God really is. His love and grace shine so brightly through you.
So Robert… I have this book of inspirational quotes that I was flipping through tonight and came across this:
“The world is one percent good, one percent bad, ninety-eight percent neutral. It can go one way or the other, depending on which side is pushing. This is why what individuals do is important.”
You have a LOT of people pushing for you, Aimee, the girls, Egan and ALL of the medical staff touching your lives. The strength, love and passion your family has shown for each other during your battle is amazing and inspiring. You will all get through this… because so many people are pushing in the direction of “good.”
Or in straight-up Brooklyn talk… Cancuh? Fuggedaboutit. Who do I gotta tawk to ta make dis ting go away?
Now that you’re smiling – go to sleep. You have some cancer-fighting to do tomorrow.
You may have a hard road ahead but know we will all be on that road with you!
Its so cool to see you “styling and profiling” in this video that one can’t be anything other then positive about the days and weeks ahead. We will keep the good thoughts and prayers going for you and your family and in particular for the incoming Egan! We know that boy will do it like his dad.
And thank you for sharing this and the other videos. They are a true source of inspiration!!
You have a beautiful soul and heart, and a strong mind. We wish you the best, and know that we pray for your full recovery.
“There is much in the world to make us afraid. There is much more in our faith to make us unafraid.” ~Frederick W. Cropp
You and Aimee are both in my thoughts and prayers. If it helps, I will take a picture for you soon, and one day post it. I’m thinking pinhole, but if you have a preference, let me know.
Your bravery is inspiring. The excitement in your face when speaking of the impending birth of little Egan is captivating. It’s going to be a great day! You will all continue to be in my thoughts.
I think of you and your family daily and am wishing you all the best. I find your site the very inspirational and have sent it to my father who has undergone these same treatments. When he feels a little less up to fighting, you provide him what he needs to keep going. You and Aimee are truly amazing people.
Thanks for explaining about the stem cells- that makes perfect sense to me now! Hey – we are praying for you guys and cannot wait to hear all about baby EF!
Robert, as i watched your video i really felt the Father’s Love for you and pray that even now, as you read this comment, you would know its richness. I pray for it to cover you like a security blanket and that there would be rest in His hands for you today. I pray that the chemo will not deplete your energy as it is “supposed to” but instead, you would have energy each day because of the Love you receive from the Lord. 1 John 4:19, “We love because He first loved us.” and i pray that you would be able to continue to love well and that we would continue to love you well through the process. Thank you for letting us run the race with you and fight the fight. Bless you today Robert, you and Aimee. You both are not alone. I am thankful for that.
So, aloooong time ago I was a cheerleader in highschool. Try to imagine yourself as the star, the doctors as your teammates, and all of us on the sidelines yelling out all those silly cheers.
Better yet, try to imagine everyone in cheerleader uniforms. Hope that puts a smile on your face!
Livestrong brother. We’re friends of the Curiel’s and I’m a TC survivor who also had our first child while I was undergoing treatment. Prayers your way.
Robert, you are loved. So is Aimee, and each of your THREE children! By me, by our friends in Austin, and by our Father who is greater even than all of this.
BEST BELOVED ROBERT – CONGRATULATIONS PAPA! HAPPY SON EGAN! HAPPY WIFE, AIMEE, DAUGHTERS, ETHNE, & EMELINE! HAPPY HUSBAND, FATHER, AND NEPHEW IN LAW – I’M RIGHT THERE WITH YOU, ROBERT, I’M RIGHT THERE WITH YOU! JESUS’ BEST! LOVE YOU WITH GOBS & GOBS OF LOVE, AUNT JAN, CALIFORNIA
Congrats with little Egan, we are so very happy for your family!
You are one handsome, tough, brave and honorable man. Thanks again for all of the posts, it helps all of us feel better knowing what is going on and seeing your face.
We met your brother Joe at IHOP KC in March 2008. We’re from Northern Ireland and we really connected with Joe at that time and we have kept in touch ever since. He has kept us informed of your treatment and we wanted to let you know personally that not only are we praying for you but many of our friends here in Ireland remember you and your family at this time.
Robert,
I got to know Aimee briefly at MOPS in Austin. I have followed your story and your progress very closely. I pray for you and Aimee and your children all the time. I LOVE your videos and have hung on your every word. What a beautiful thing you are doing by sharing your journey, your pain, your hopes, your relationship with God, etc. You will never know how many people you will have touched. I am so happy that Egan has arrived, although I know it was hard for you to not be able to be there. I will be so thrilled when your family is able to be together again. In the meantime, keep fighting, and I will keep praying.
Once again we have to wonder about our Brad and his impression that Egan is a girl. I really miss you guys outside my office saying rude things to each other.
I am THRILLED Egan is here safe and sound!! And SO happy for you! Joy in the midst of challenge; that is so like the mysteries of the Plan we don’t have all the pieces to. What can I say? “…now we see in a mirror darkly…then, face to face.” It is all marvelous and perfect. Do not worry. Put on a big smile, Big Daddy. You have many reasons to sleep well tonight and many reasons to wake up to huge hope tomorrow.
As Wendy says,”XO”.

CONGRATULATIONS!!! We are so happy for you and Amiee and Egan’s big sisters. Actually saw Amiee last night and knew she was going into the hospital in the evening…just knew Egan would make his debut soon. Yes, God is Good in every perfect way. What a Blessing. Robert this fight will be won. Mike just shared a story about a co-workers husband who went through the exact same battle and is now doing well and is cancer free. Praise God…we believe. Love you …
Welcome baby Egan! So happy for you, Aimee and the girls. We are thinking of you all and praying for your beautiful family. Stay strong!

Congratulations Robert on your new son. We took Sage and Austin to their first day of school at First Pres today and I couldn’t help but remember the picture of Sage and Ethne the first day in Ms. Raquel’s class smiling so big. Now they are big girls. Sage came over and hugged Austin over the fence in the outside play area. Ethne and Emiline are going to be wonderful big sisters like this. You have the most beautiful family Robert. I’m glad they will get to join you soon.
hey rob,
i have a tkt to chicago for the week of sept 16th and it looks like my reason behind that trip has changed(not for sure yet). worse case scenario, i will get to be in indy for at least a day to see you, joe and whoever else will be around. stay strong and keep fighting. you have a beautiful son that needs his dad and those women in your life are all three needing you just as much. i always offer anything i can do and it still stands, i am lucky enough to be able to adjust my schedule and be anywhere i need to be for friends like you and your family. love you all.

Robert, you seriously rock! I know that you are not feeling 100% but you are so inspiring to all of us! We are praying for you all the time, that you will feel better, that Amy and the kids will be taken care of and mostly that satan (in the form of cancer) will leave your body in the name of Jesus. You belong to Jesus and Satan can have no hold over you, so we are praying for that healing now! you are awesome, we love you…
I’m praying for a safe delivery for Aimee & your little Egan. What an amazing gift.
